Summer Evening Activities
Photography and nature trip to Tring reservoirs
Children stay for tea at school and take their cameras with them to Tring Reservoir. They watch the wild life and learn how to best photograph wildlife in the early evening.
Campfire cooking and wide games
The evening involves building a fire and cooking some sausages and jacket potatoes. The children will then play some wide games and tell stories in the 'dark woods'.
Golf team trials
Open to children from Years 5 - 8 who wish to be considered for the school team to play later in the term in the Inter-Schools Golf Tournament.
Map reading nature ramble
Open to boys an girls from Years 5 and 6 who will be plotting their way around the perimeter of Westbrook Hay, Little Hay Golf course, down towards Bourne End and back, recording wildlife as their go. Camera and binoculars are useful, but not essential.
Parent / pupil golf challenge
There is a junior challenge for children from Years 3 and 4 and their parents and also a senior challenge for children from Years 5 - 8 and their parents. The family team comprising of an adult and a child compete for the lowest combined score over the 6-hole Westbrook Hay course, followed by a barbecue.
Environmental poetry evening
This is a walking study of local p and authors for the children of Year 7.
