Our Year 3 pupils have visited Hertfordshire Zoo (formerly Paradise Wildlife Park) as part of their Science and Geography units - Plants and The Rainforest. Hertfordshire Zoo is a registered charity, the Zoo not only care for the animals on site but their team raise funds to support wildlife conservation projects both in the UK and around the globe.
Whilst the projects that Herts Zoo supports vary from year to year (ranging from indigenous British species such as hedgehogs and water voles to red pandas and tigers), a key focus for Hertfordshire Zoo is the conservation, in the natural habitat, of many of the threatened and endangered species you will see at the Zoo. The trip has brought alive the summer topic.
