The French Trip

Year 6

In Year 6 all the children have the opportunity to go on a residential trip to France. They stay in a Château which is situated in the La Manche region of Normandy. It is set in 90 acres of grounds incorporating an orchard, a cider press,” boules” pitch, farmyard, lake, river, assault course, climbing wall and frame, archery range, woodland and meadows, volleyball court, football/basketball courts and stables. Our trip takes place in the last week of the spring term just before the Easter holiday.

We believe a residential trip in France, where all the children are totally immersed in the language and the lifestyle for 5 days is an excellent experience for them. Not only do they learn more French, they also benefit from interesting visits, get to be away from home and gain a huge sense of responsibility and achievement. Of course they also have a lot of fun in safe surroundings and this trip is one of the highlights of their time at Westbrook Hay.
