What a week of cricket!

What a week of cricket!

1st Team

A ten wicket win was a fair reflection of how comfortable this win was. Swanbourne elected to bat but continuously lost wickets. They had one gun bat who was brilliantly caught by Josh Smee.... this catch rivalled Oscar's two outstanding  catches earlier this season. Everyone bowled well but Thomas Mc again excelled with 2-0-14-4 while Oscar had very tidy figures of 2-2-2-0!!

In reply we knocked them off in 6 overs and both Lutero and Charlie looked excellent.

We were finished so early that we missed the rush hour in Aylesbury, an added bonus!

The team spirit, our concentration on a hot day and the shot selection by our openers was excellent. Well done everyone.

Colts As

Westbrook Colts A members had the privilege to play cricket on the pristine pitches at Haileybury School last Wednesday. The boys took this opportunity with two hands winning all of their group games against Heath Mount, St Columba’s and Gayhurst.

This set up a final against The Beacon on pavilion pitch. Westbrook won the toss in the final and decided to bat first. They then produced an amazing batting performance amassing 73 runs in 5 overs! The Beacon started well but ended up 20 runs short of that formidable total.

Well done to all the boys involved this was a superb team performance.

U10A Girls

The U10A girls enjoyed a cracking victory over Edge Grove. Tabi, Sophie and Maddie were exceptional with the ball to restrict our opponents. We then attacked with the bat. Phoebe led the way as she always does with our Y4 girls also hitting big and Hannah excellently led the team to a win by 40 runs.
