A wild and wonderful day

A wild and wonderful day

Our pre-prep finished the half term with an exciting and fun day. Children dressed in costumes ranging from leopards to unicorns and explorers to spiders.

Ranger Lottie and the Zoolab animals paid a visit, introducing Bella the spider, Pip the tortoise, Bullseye the snail, and other fascinating creatures to our Pre Prep students. The reception was a mix of curiosity and surprise!

The visit wasn’t just a fun experience; it also served as a cross-curricular event. The children engaged in different themed activities, including Big Art (where they created a Pre-Prep peacock using handprints), dramatic storytelling, and crafting birdcakes and butterfly feeders. They even designed bug sculptures in the woods, connecting their learning from topics like mini beasts and people who help to their recent trips to Whipsnade Zoo.

It was a lovely way to spend the last day of the half term. We extend our thanks to our new friend, Ranger Lottie, and the ZooLab animals, as well as all the Westbrook Hay children who had an incredibly wild time!
