Oliver

The Easter term, at Westbrook Hay saw three glorious performances of our Upper School production, ‘Oliver!’ which left the audience begging for more on each occasion. From start to finish, it was a production to cherish and remember, whether treading the boards or as a member of the audience.
Under our Deputy Head’s, careful direction, Lional Bart’s wonderful book and score were brought to life by our Director of Music, Mr Wagstaff, and his orchestra. The audience journeyed with the characters through the full range of emotions, from joyous camaraderie, poignant contemplation, and moments of sheer heartbreak.
A cast of over 70 children aged between 10 and 13 years spent eight weeks rehearsing, learning lines and choreography to perform an unforgettable production and the work and time spent really paid off.  The school’s magnificent Performing Arts Centre gave the children the experience of a ‘proper’ theatre, including levelled staging, radio controlled microphones and professional make-up, costumes and lighting.

Look at the wonderful photos from the show.
