Watford Festival 2023

Watford Festival 2023

Well done to all our children who performed in the vocal section of the @watfordfestivalofmusic held @ParmitersSchool. All of our children have music lessons and have the option of lessons in singing from some amazing teachers. Our children develop their confidence in music through a wide range of performances in school from our pre-prep through to Year 8. Dr Lewington, our Head of Music said “A competitive festival can be daunting but it offers a supportive opportunity for participants to experience performing in front of a new audience and to receive expert advice and encouragement. We are very proud of those children from Westbrook Hay who took part, during such a busy term, and proved they are superb musicians!”

Congratulations to the following children who won medals or a cup and a big thank you for the support of their tutors Mrs Tong and Mr Smith.

Freddie claimed first prize in his class, Phoebe & Muskaan were second and Alice came third in her class. Well done to Emmi who achieved special merit, singing River Lullaby from the Prince of Egypt.

The Watford Festival was established over 70 years ago and encourages people of all ages to perform in the areas of Music, Speech and Drama by providing an opportunity to perform before an adjudicator and an audience. It is a competitive festival and offers a supportive opportunity for participants to experience performing in front of an audience and to receive expert advice and encouragement. We are very proud of those children from Westbrook Hay who took part, during such a busy term, and proved they are super musicians!
