Stanley Spencer

Year 8 spent Friday morning visiting the Stanley Spencer Gallery in Cookham. The children were enthralled by the talk, given by local ex headmaster, Paul Grandidge. Paul gave the children an insight into the life of Stanley and the influences upon his work. The boys responded by asking intriguing questions and showed a genuine interest into the life of Stanley Spencer.

After a tour of the gallery the children were then taken on the Cookham walk. Following in the footsteps of this individual genius to see first-hand the places that inspired him, where he painted many of his finest works and the house in which he grew up.
