Year 1 at Chiltern Open Air Museum

Year 1 had a very exciting trip to Chiltern Open Air Museum on Tuesday. We learnt about how it was like to live in the Stone Age and had to help make bread from grinding the wheat to make the flour and churning the milk to make butter. It was very different to just going to supermarket and quite hard work! We explored the Victorian houses and war time Prefab where the children enjoyed dressing up in old clothes and playing with old games. They were very surprised to see and learn about a Victorian classroom and how different houses were hundreds of years ago, especially finding the toilet outside!
