Basketball squad v Orley Farm (a) Monday 27th February won 30-28
This was our last match of the season and in many ways our best. The small court meant that 4 a side was the way forward, and with 9 players, that meant that it was not easy to give everyone match time and still win!
We set off at a good pace and got in behind the opposition early on to take a good quarter time lead. They pulled back in the second quarter but a 3 pointer from Max and a basket from Laurie cut the deficit to 2 points at half time. We had an excellent 3rd quarter and held a 4 point lead going into the final quarter of the match. Well played to Freddie, Lewis, Charlie and Toby for getting us back in front. Orley started and cut the deficit right back and it really was an exciting game of basketball as they drew level with only 2 minutes to go. Then we came up with a quick ball forward and a final basket to win the match. Well done to all for winning this feisty encounter!
