Our Year 4 pupils recently enjoyed an exciting bushcraft trip, stepping away from the classroom and into the great outdoors for a hands-on woodland adventure.
Throughout the trip, pupils developed practical survival skills and worked together to overcome a range of challenges. They learned how to light fires from scratch, build shelters using natural materials and explore the woodland through foraging activities.
The children also had the opportunity to practise woodland survival cooking, preparing food over open flames and experiencing the teamwork and patience needed to cook outdoors.
From navigating challenges to creating shelters and supporting one another, the trip was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to build confidence, resilience and independence while developing a deeper appreciation for the natural world. The trip was also a wonderful celebration of them being half way through our Prep section of school.
It was wonderful to see the children embracing new experiences, encouraging each other and showing great teamwork throughout the residential. A memorable trip filled with learning, laughter and plenty of muddy boots!
