Last weekend 11 of our Year 9 pupils took park in their first Bronze Duke of Edinburgh 24-hour Practice Expedition. They spent the first night camping in the grounds of the school, using camp equipment to cook food they had planned and bought ahead of the expedition.
On Saturday morning pupils were awake early, where they packed away their tents, and navigated the 16km to Chorleywood Common. They were blessed with stunning weather and some fabulous rural scenery.
It was a successful weekend as they prepare for the full expedition later on this term. Pupils will now focus on reviewing their training, including reflections on kit, food, campcraft, navigation and teamwork.
