Bronze DofE Expedition Success

Bronze DofE Expedition Success

Following its postponement in June, our Bronze qualifying expedition finally took place before half term, with boys, now in Year 10, setting off on their two-day adventure from Ashley Green.

On the first day, the group covered just under 20km, heading generally westwards before arriving at Hill Farm campsite in Wendover at around 5.30pm. Conditions were perfect for walking, and the boys demonstrated strong navigational skills throughout the day.

After a night under the stars, the group was up and ready to go by 8.45am. Their second day's route took them through Wendover town and on to the village of Great Hampden, covering a further 15km.

Throughout the expedition, the boys displayed excellent teamwork, navigation and campcraft, demonstrating real maturity and determination along the way. They will also be sharing their experiences and what they have learned through a presentation to our Senior pupils.

We now look forward to seeing the awards signed off and completed in the coming weeks, marking an exciting milestone for Westbrook Hay: the achievement of our very first Duke of Edinburgh's Awards!

A huge well done to the boys for successfully completing their Bronze expedition, and a big thank you to Mrs Blackwood, our DofE Assessor, for her support.
