Cricket wins all round

What a fabulous end to the cricket season where all our teams have shown so much talent and improvement over the summer.

1st Team vs Heath Mount

The first team finished the season with an emphatic victory over Heath Mount. The loss of an early wicket did not put WBH off and a stand of 96 between Archie F 54* and Joss H 39 saw the team to a very respectable 116-2 off their 20 overs.
In 3 over Heath Mount were 5-6! Terrific bowling by Sam K, amazing fielding especially from Joss H and finally 3 wickets for 3 runs from Charlie L  saw the opposition bowled out for 30.

U10A vs Heath Mount

The great South African golfer Gary Player once said “ the more I practice, the luckier I get”. This reminds me greatly of the U10 A team I had the pleasure of taking today. Routinely this group of boys are working on their cricket technique at every break time net session.

This paid dividend with their performance today, where they managed to bowl Heath Mount out for 24 runs in under 10 overs! They all bowled with great discipline but the two boys who stood out were Ollie M who took 3 wickets in his over, and Barney L who took 2 wickets in his over. They were both on a hat-trick! Barney L also took my catch of the season with a brilliant diving effort.

In response, Charlie B and Rushil D sensibly knocked the total off in under 5 overs. Well done boys on one of the most professional performances I have seen in schoolboys cricket.

U9s at the York House 6s Festival

U9As won the York House festival yesterday competing in their 6s tournament. We were unbeaten.

The standard was very high with some very good schools there, Sebastian F was my Man of the match for his outstanding bowling performance.
