Lionesses win at Wembley

Lionesses win at Wembley

In a thrilling outing, 14 enthusiastic girls from our Years 5 & 6 recently attended the Lionesses' crucial Nation's League match against the Netherlands at the iconic Wembley Stadium. The atmosphere was electric, and the girls were captivated by England's remarkable comeback from a 0-2 deficit, clinching a 3-2 victory with an extraordinary goal by Ella Toone in the closing moments.

This exciting experience is part of our ongoing efforts to inspire our young football enthusiasts. Girls' football is flourishing at Westbrook Hay, exemplified by our U11A team's recent unbeaten season, crowned with a tournament win. We believe that witnessing such exhilarating moments live fosters a deep connection with the sport and their footballing heroes.

Looking ahead, we are thrilled to announce that next year, our school will host the IAPS regional girls' football tournament. This presents a fantastic opportunity for our aspiring football stars to showcase their talent on a broader stage. In line with our commitment to nurturing talent, we are now accepting scholarship applications for gifted female footballers from Year 3 upwards.
