After a relaxing evening in our Somerset log cabin which we spent pizza making and hot tubbing, the U11A boys' football squad travelled to Millfield for the IAPS Nationals. After conceding early in the first game, we quickly recovered to beat Hall Grove 2-1. Nathaniel was looking very lively up front and Nikhil and Edward were in outstanding form controlling the defence. 2 more victories were sandwiched by one defeat - we were playing some great free flowing football with Luca and Reuel at the heartbeat of a lot of what we were doing. Our points tally meant we finished joint top and qualified for the quarter-finals. There we faced our old foes The Hall, who had beaten us in the regional final. It was another tight game and the boys showed great resilience to come from behind with Albi equalising midway through the game. We went into golden goal territory and unfortunately The Hall scored to put us out. They went on to win the competition and were very complimentary after the event saying that we were the best team we played.
The boys were superb all weekend and a credit to themselves, their parents and the school. Well done boys; we are very proud of you!
