Choosing the next school for your child can be a dilemma however this need not be the case. As a Prep School, we pride ourselves on working with our parents and pupils to ensure that we can identify a school which best fits each child’s strengths.
Last week we hosted our first Senior Schools’ Roadshow in our Performing Arts Centre. A wide range of excellent schools attended – Bedford School, Queenswood, St Margaret’s, Bloxham, Royal Masonic School, Pipers Corner, Bedford Girls School, Shiplake and the Arts Educational School in Tring. The aim of the event was to broaden our parents' knowledge on schools, both local and from further afield.
With the development of Year 7 and Year 8 at Westbrook Hay, one of the focusses of the event was to invite schools who welcome application from both our girls and boys at 13+. Our parents were greatly impressed with the information the schools provided, although some seemed quite daunted at talk of GCSE and A Level options!
We were pleased to welcome back four former Westbrook Hay pupils, now in Year 12 at local independent schools. The boys proved popular with the parents, talking about their experiences of life at Westbrook Hay and the transition to and opportunities at their senior schools.
Our parents gave some very positive feedback from the evening and gained an insight into some of the excellent schools available to their children when they leave us.
