Westbrook's U11 Girls' football team travelled to Forest School in Essex for the Independent School Football Association (ISFA) Regional Finals and played brilliantly to reach the semi-finals. Getting off to a brilliant start with a 3-0 the girls won 3 and drew one of their group games, finishing top of the group with 10 points. The highlight was a battling 1-0 victory over a strong Chigwell team with Maggie's deflected shot proving the difference between the 2 teams. As group winners we progressed to the semi-finals where we were edged out 1-0 by a strong Gatehouse School. This game was end to end with Westbrook defending brilliantly in the first half and dominating the second half with Megan's volley superbly saved by their goalkeeper. The player of the tournament was Myiah who made a string of brave and athletic saves at crucial moments in big games. This is the furthest a Westbrook girls’ team have reached in this competition and a sign of the growing footballing interest and ability of the girls.
