Our Y5 pupils embarked on a two-night Bushcraft adventure at Badminton Woods, part of the Badminton estate in Gloucestershire. The children took full advantage of the wonderful weather and while all the children slept under canvas, eight brave pupils even chose to sleep under the bivouacs shelters that they had constructed on the first day!
The children not only had a huge amount of fun throughout the week but they also acquired numerous new skills:
· First Aid and CPR techniques
· Knife skills, including whittling tent pegs and pencils
· Fire building and cooking their own lunch
· Water filtration
· Preparing a salmon with two brave children even eating the eyeballs!
· They also enjoyed playing games in the ridings.
As one of our parents has said -
“Thank you so much for such a fantastic trip! We are so grateful that our daughter is in a school that is ambitious for her to try new things and extend herself and we can see her confidence growing. She has come home buzzing with enthusiasm.”
We are immensely proud of the way the children demonstrated remarkable resilience throughout their trip.
