As part of our Academic Enrichment Programme, Year 7 enjoyed a residential trip early in the autumn term. The trip served both as a bonding experience for the new Year 7 cohort and a chance to explore and bring to life elements of the English, Drama and History curriculum.
During the trip, Year 7 enjoyed an overnight trip to Stratford-upon-Avon. They explored Shakespeare's birthplace where they gained an insight into Elizabethan society and the formative influences on Shakespeare’s writing before participating in a workshop at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. They then enjoyed a Stratford Ghost Walk, mixing local history with storytelling. Finally, a trip to Warwick Castle helped pupils understand medieval life and history in an exciting, hands-on way.
It was a very successful trip, enjoyed by all.
