Year 8 Success

Year 8 Success

We are incredibly proud of our Year 8 children this year who have achieved so many great things during their time at Westbrook Hay.  This term is when the children find out how well they have done in their entrance exams and scholarships to senior school.

All the pupils have been successful in gaining places at their first-choice senior school and many have been in the lucky position of being able to choose between several offers.  Westbrook Hay children are exceptionally well prepared for their entrance exams and interviews but also for life in senior school.

The children will move to schools that will help to develop their strengths and further prepare them for university and beyond.  Our Assistant Head  Academic, Catherine Busfield, works with many of these prestigious schools understanding what their entry requirements are and ensuring these are going to be the best schools for our pupils to flourish.  This year the boys will be moving onto Bedford School, Bedford Modern, Berkhamsted, Stowe, Akeley Wood, St Albans School, St Columba's and Aldenham.

We are also delighted with the scholarship success of the children.  Barney and Noah have been awarded academic scholarships to St Albans; sports scholarships have been awarded to Charlie from Bedford School, Oliver from St Albans School, Thomas from Aldenham and Jake from Akeley Wood.  Euan impressed Stowe with his musical talent and has also been awarded a scholarship.

Congratulations to all our Year 8 pupils who have worked exceptionally hard, shown leadership and have worked as a team throughout their time in Years 7 & 8.
