Year 8 visited The Skills Show at the Birmingham NEC last Friday 17th November. This was a fantastic event that supported the boys’ careers studies in Citizenship. At the show they were be able to talk directly to professionals from a huge and diverse range of industries. To name but a few these included Rolls Royce Global Development, The British Racing School, Rollins Tools, the British Industry for Non-Destructive Testing and CIAT UK. The boys were also able to take part in a vast range of interactive and hands-on activities that they thoroughly enjoyed and which clearly fuelled their imaginations, including coding, game-programming, bricklaying, sound engineering and TV studio production, hairdressing, graphic design, sheet metal engineering (the list goes on and on). It was a truly valuable experience for the boys, and one which they clearly appreciated.
